The cradle of the Industrial Revolution, Manchester and its colourful surrounding area is home to sights that are as varied as you'll find anywhere in the world.
From the futuristic vistas around the city centre and the nearby Salford Quays - home to the exciting new Media City development which will house several BBC departments from 2011 - to the wild, rolling countryside of the Pennines just a short journey away to the north and east of the city, the area encapsulates everything that's great about modern England, and the green and pleasant land which has inspired generations of poets, writers and composers.
Welcoming millions of visitors to Manchester each year, the spacious and modern Piccadilly railway station is the main gateway to the region for visitors from all over the UK, boasting regular, fast and direct rail services from London Euston, Birmingham, Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds and Glasgow.
When you leave your train at Piccadilly station on your way to the attractions of the surrounding area, it's good to know that you can head off on your travels unencumbered by heavy baggage.
Instead, you can leave it in the capable hands of the staff at Left Baggage's offices at Piccadilly station, where it will be safely stored, closely guarded, and ready for you when you want to head home.
If you're visiting the city to discover the delights of the best shopping outside London, then it's great to know that you can deposit all your essentials in the safe keeping of our friendly and helpful staff, leaving you to concentrate on seeing how many shopping bags you can handle!
And if you're stepping out into the wild blue yonder, it's great to know that Left Baggage can lighten your load, and that all your essentials are being taken care of, and will be waiting for you when you return from your adventures.
With an excellent network of buses, trains and trams to take you far and wide - or indeed, right to the heart of Manchester itself - there's no excuse for not putting on your most comfortable walking shoes and heading off in search of what makes Manchester, and this much-loved part of England, so well-loved.
Our offices open at 7am Monday to Saturday and 8am on Sunday, so you can pick up or drop off for an early start if required, and you can deposit or retrieve items any time up to 11pm seven days a week. In the interests of your own and our staff's safety, each item deposited will be security screened or x-rayed before it is accepted.
