Booking FAQs

Do I have to book online? Or can I pay in-store on the day?

Both options are available. Online booking is available for those customers who would like the peace of mind of booking in advance.

For those who would prefer to pay in-store on the day that is fine. In-store payment is made when you collect your bags.

Why should I pre-book ?

Pre-booking gives you priority service – please proceed to the front of the queue.

I want to drop my bag off at the weekend, will it be busy?

Saturday and Sunday are our busiest days, please allow extra time to drop-off and collect. Please be aware that queues are likely.

What are your opening times?

Please see the locations section in this website on this. Generally units operate 7 days per week and some units are open on Christmas Day and New Years Day. Please ensure that you check our opening times carefully for current opening and closing time revisions. Baggage will under no circumstances be released outside the published opening hours.

Do we need to book before depositing our luggage, in case there is no space?

We operate a large number of baggage storage facilities both in London and nationwide so there is usually space for all of our customers. In the unlikely event of one of our units at airports or in Central London being full, we may be able to refer baggage to the next available storage location.

Service Questions

Are 3rd party collections possible - ie person A deposits baggage and person B collects?

No. This can only happen if the depositor hands the ORIGINAL TICKET to the collector. Items cannot be collected without the original receipt ticket received by the depositor from us at the time of deposit.

Are transfers to other Excess Baggage Company operated Baggage storage shops, or to domestic or foreign destinations possible?

Yes, extra fees will be added, depending on where the transfer is. Storage will continue to be charged during the time that the baggage remains in store with us.

What happens if I lose my ticket/receipt?

There is a Lost ticket fee charge of £15.00 to cover our administration costs, and time in dealing with this. You will be required to show appropriate identification, and you must be able to detail the contents of the baggage; both, to our complete satisfaction. You will be required to sign an indemnifier, and copies will be taken of the documentation supplied.

What happens if my baggage sustains damage whilst in storage?

This is extremely unlikely as we only place your baggage on to storage racks. Baggage that is found to be damaged on receipt by our staff, may or may not be accepted for storage. Damaged bags may be noted at the time of receipt.

We may specifically exclude our liability on bags which are unsuitable, overweight, unsafe, or previously damaged in anyway. We will not be liable for damage to baggage stored which is in excess of the EU recommended safety weight of 32kg (66lbs). Our liability, in any event, for loss, theft or damage occasioned to baggage in storage or transit from storage is limited to £200 per transaction.
